Getting into the world, playing your creature, and where to go when something's off — plus the two Discord bots that bring the living world to you. If a question isn't answered here, the field guide and the community server pick up the rest.
Third-person, direct control. The client only asks — the server validates every move and every bite, so the anti-cheat snap-back applies to you too.
New to the world? The field guide walks you from hatchling to elder, and the species picker lets you scout every creature before you spawn.
The client boots straight into the main menu. From there it's two ways in.
Pick PLAY — JOIN SERVER, enter a world's address (the box defaults to
127.0.0.1:7777 for a local server), and travel in. Browse what's live on the
server browser first.
Pick HOST & PLAY — SOLO DEV to open the world as a listen server in-process — the whole loop on one machine, and where the F1 dev sandbox is always available.
A dedicated server takes about 1–3 minutes to come up the first time (it builds the world,
the herd and the registries). Windows will ask once to allow port 7777/UDP
through the firewall — say yes.
Two read-only bots. They show the world — server status, forecasts, the leaderboard, the codex — but they never command the game. All authority stays on the sovereign server.
Live server status, the weather forecast, the global leaderboard and active disasters, pulled straight from the meta API.

Look up any creature, browse an era's roster, check the market or a soul's karma, and pull the quick-start guide — all from the committed roster and meta API.

A living-world survival game. You play one real creature inside a self-running ecosystem, across ten geological eras and 89 paleo-grounded species. The world runs its own seasons, weather, populations and extinctions whether or not you're logged in.
Boot the client into the main menu, then either join a server (default local address
127.0.0.1:7777) or host & play solo on one machine. You spawn as a
vulnerable hatchling — find food and water, stay near cover, and grow. The
field guide covers the full journey to elder.
Not yet. Creatures currently render as species-tinted proxy bodies scaled by growth stage — honest placeholders until per-species art lands. Everything behind them is real: the stats, genetics, server-authoritative movement and combat, ecology and terrain.
No. The rules are server-authoritative, consequences are permanent, and monetization is cosmetics only. You can't buy stats, size or a place on the leaderboard — you earn them by surviving.
Every place on the global leaderboard is authored by the game server and signature-verified upstream before it's counted, so no client can forge glory. It pools every world into one cross-server ranking.
That's a world-seed mismatch — the client and server built different terrain. Make sure both sides use the
same world seed. If PLAY seems to do nothing, the dedicated server may still be booting (first boot
is ~1–3 minutes) or port 7777/UDP is blocked by the firewall.
You probably spawned at night. The day/night sky is real — open the F1 dev sandbox on a host you control and set Time of day → Noon, or just wait for dawn.
Watch the world live, or dive into the field guide for the deep detail. The community Discord (with the Herald & Codex bots) opens soon.
